1938 Aerial Photograph
July 10, 2026
When we first walked this property, we couldn't help but wonder what it looked like years ago. Who lived here? What did they build? What did they grow?
So we started digging through old aerial photographs.
That's when we realized this wasn't always the property we see today.
Nearly a century ago, this land was an active farm. The aerial photos show terraced fields, a farmhouse, and land that had clearly been worked for generations. Over time, the fields gave way to forest, the farmhouse disappeared, and nature slowly reclaimed much of the landscape.
We don't know the full story yet, and that's part of the fun.
Each old map, deed, and aerial photograph adds another small piece to the puzzle. As we continue learning about the history of this property, we'll share what we discover here.
Maybe someday we'll even uncover photographs of the original farmhouse or learn more about the family who once called this place home.
For now, these aerial images are the earliest glimpse we've found of Whetstone Branch Farm's past.
